Last week was pretty fun. I went out with Mike to this club in Michigan that I haven't been to in 2 years. Saw a lot of people i hadn't seen in a while, met a lot of people as well. Then we went to this after hours bar where half the people there were f'up on drugs so we left shortly after.
Crossing the border back to Canada was disturbing. We came back at 4 AM and I never have problems crossing the border, I mean I do it all the time, once a week or every 2 weeks for sure and never have problems. So this time they tell us to pull into the building so they can do a search in the car. I wasn't afraid since I had nothing to hide so I pull in and we get out and make conversation with one of the officers (the other one was searching the car). Then the officer that was searching the car tells Mike to empty his pockets and all. That's when the officer that we were talking to tells me that if we do drugs, to tell him the truth that he doesn't care as long as we are not transporting drugs. I said no, i don't even smoke or anything. After that other officer was done searching through Mike's belongings. He asks me and he finds nothing of course. Then he asks me to show him my arms. I flipped out and showed them to him and asked why he was asking me to show him my arms, do I look like a junkie??? And he said he found "narcotics residue" on the steering wheel and the driver door. I was like "WHAT!!??? I don't let ANYONE drive my car and nobody does anything in my or even smoke in my car. I don't do anything never did, or whatever". That totally pissed me off because I hate being accused of something I never did, specially something as serious as that. I asked him how he could find any residue like that in my car and he said they use this chemical on this cloth and rub it on surfaces and if the cloth changes color, then that's some kind of narcotic residue. So the officer pretty much didn't believe me, I had nothing in my pockets, socks, belt, wallet, nothing like that... and he still insisted that I had something. Ohh, he also said he found "seeds" on the passenger seat. I told him those were bird seeds a friend bought when I was in Buffalo. He gave me the dirtiest look saying "Bird seeds?? riiiiiiiight". This guy toooootally didn't believe anything I said but it all was true. So they let us go finally and before we left he asked us again if we had contact or touched anything with narcotics that could have left those marks on the steering wheel and the door. I said "NO, nothing, never" and we left. Later on, Mike and I found out how that residue got there. We handled money at 2 clubs. People snort stuff with dollar bills, so that could be one way to get residue on my hands. The other way, and probably the most logical was that after hours bar we went to. Since they don't sell drinks there, half the people there were on drugs and some of them introduced themselves to me. They shook my hand and their hands were sweaty. I touched my steering wheel and my door right after that bar. Oh i was soooooo mad after everything happened.
Later on the weekend, I went back to the states. Had fun with Russell. It was his coworker's birthday so he and his friend saran wrapped the birthday girl's car. Everything was wrapped and I mean eeeeeeeverything. She couldn't open the doors, or trunk or hood or see through the windshield. When she came out later on after work and saw her car, she laughed so hard. oooh good times... That same night Russell and I went to see Laura at work (some bar). Had a couple of drinks and went to see 28 days. That movie was NOT scary at all, people were screaming every time they saw a corpse. I mean, come ooooooon, it's just a person lying there, nothing to scream for. Next day we hung out with Jackie and Mike. Went to eat to Mongolian bbq and just chilled at their place with some other friends till freaking late!! i wanted to go home but noooooo they had to talk talk talk talk talk all night long... =/
Anyway, i guess the most important thing I wanted to say was about today. Ok... I currently have a work visa that expires saturday July 26th 2003. I applied to extend it about 1 month and a half ago. I still haven't received any response yet. They can deny it or approve it. Today at around 4:30 PM I get a call from the immigration office. The lady asks me how much I make a year. I tell her how much I make and she asked if i had proof of that and I told her i probably have a copy of my T4 slip from my income tax. I asked her what was wrong with my visa and she said that my employer last year agreed to pay me a certain salary and that my case cannot be considered if my employer is not paying me that much. I played dumb and told her that I would fax her what I have on monday. Then I talked to my boss (the employer) and since he's not paying me what he agreed on paying me and honestly I know he can't pay me that much, he is going to find other ways to make up for the difference. He only agreed to pay me that much last year so I could get my work visa renewed last year. I'm just nervous and worried that my extension gets denied. Then I can't stay in Canada. I've been here for the past 5-6 years. I went to school here. I already made a life up here, i got my house, car, friends, family, bf, everything here. I can't leave any of that. All the time I have invested, all that I have done and struggled to obtain, could be gone in 1 week. Last year at around this time of the year I felt the same way, but I got it. Now it's that time of the year again... I don't wanna lose the life that i have :(
*sigh* Good nighty everyone... |

Greetings and salutations everyone...
Don't know how to start so i'll just type random things as they cross my mind.
My friend Rob who i've known for 6 years now, convinced me to join Livejournal. I thank him for being a great friend and always being there. Hope you made it back to the US safe and that they didn't turn your princess around back to Australia!!
Hmmm, how to introduce myself... I hate talking about myself ... but I'll be brief. I'm Venezuelan, born and raised and have been in Canada for the past 5 years... Came here, to do College, graduated and now work as an Ecommerce Developer in Windsor ontario.
Enjoying summer now. Went to the river to draw with Russell, that was fun... people would come over and ask us what we were drawing and shit. oooh good times saturday we went to a friend's barbeque. that was fun too... laughed a lot, ate so much, lost my sunglasses... the usual. Then went to the bar, and couldn't stay there long, FUCK it was SO hot... stayed there for 15 minutes and we were sweating so badly, it was too packed.
Yesterday i went running by the river with my friend Mike, and he was supposed to meet me downtown Windsor by the river... of course he showed up late. So he showed up and we just talked and talked and never ran, then we ate at Subway (like good Jareds we are). After that i ran home (my mile run, finally!).
ok for a first entry, i'm done. there is so much crap to say but i'd have to explain too much, so i'll explain one thing at the time for each entry.
and now... to figure out how to make this thing "Appealing"
latah all~~ |
